Descripción: The Great Mother Dreaming is an experimental documentary that deals with the psychological condition that follows a dramatic events. The story tells about the condition of the collective identity of a southern Italian community in relation to an event which completely changed the environment. In 1980 southern Italy, and mostly Irpinia region, was struck by a terrible earthquake which destroyed most of the villages and seriously affected the main city Avellino. Since that moment people have had to rebuild their houses, move entire villages from one land to another, and, most dramatically, deal with death and memory. The way this process has gone through implied some loss in cultural roots and tradition. The movie tries to give justice to whatever was lost along the road...
