Description: In 1939, Spain sent more than two thousand children from republican families to the USSR. Forty-six years later one of these children: Yuri, who has become a respectable soldier, watches his life crumble along the Berlin Wall. After losing his job and watching Perestroika pull out all human miseries, decides to escape from Russia. He sees no future in a country where all the values of brotherhood and patriotism become rancid and absurd. In a society where the law of the strongest is imposed, Yuri is unable to feed his family. He locates his father, who lives in Spain, writes to him asking for help and specifies a date of reunion at the German border. Bernat, a lonely and silent old man, upon receiving his son's letter, decides to cross half of Europe in the hope of reuniting himself with him and recovering his lost 46 years. This is a trip of a father and son who are going to meet again. A trip of obstacles, doubts and human weaknesses. Each one with its complications and difficulties: the advanced age and disease of Bernat or the misery of a country in the case of Yuri and his family. This is how two parallel stories begin, two crossroads, two separate and divided journeys through Europas, two different motifs but with the same purpose: the search for a second chance.
