Type of project: Studio
Category: Chief Sound Technician
Description: The Talking Newspaper Service along with the trend amongst other producers of audio output for the Blind, moved from dispatching their recordings on audio cassette to sending out USB memory sticks containing MP3 recordings. A budget of £80,000 was allocated and I oversaw the change over which included a studio refit, selection and purchase of appropriate high volume digital USB copiers, and domestic listening devices adapted for the Blind. I also did the re-training of the volunteer readers, and initiating of the service users in the new technology. There was also extensive administrative planning of the project.
