I am Cameron Raynes. I work as a lecturer in history at the University of South Australia but yearn to be a full-time writer. I have had three books published -- The Last Protector, The Colour of Kerosene, and First Person Shooter. My short film, 'The Colour of Kerosene' (Eleanor Kalantary (Prod.), Rory Noke (Dir.)) won 'Best Australian Film' at the Barossa Film Festival 2013.
I write short stories and novels that play on the darkness on the edge of small country towns. I am drawn to crime (in fiction, not so much in real life).
