About me

My name is Matthew Borek and I am a camera assistant who has worked on short films, music videos, commercials, reality and episodic television, and narrative features utilizing film as well as digital equipment. I am a Local 600 member but friendly to non-union productions, have over nine years of working experience in the camera department, a BA from Columbia College Chicago in cinematography, and a hard-working, Midwestern mentality, always knowing and understanding my role while filling it to the best of my ability. I own a camera cart and complete camera assistant kit. I am proficient at pulling focus for studio, handheld, and other moving camera setups, as well as slating and organizing equipment and film/media.
