During the second half of the 90s, the magazine The Wire forged a controversial concept: post-rock. The term defined the music made by bands that could not be placed in any previous industry and market-defined genres. Introspective explores the foundations of some of these bands, and their live words and shows; it proposes a picture of indie or underground music as an affective allegory of our global societies. The film shows bands such as Sonic Youth, Mogwai, Yo La Tengo, and names such as Jeff Twedy, Jason Pierce and Lee Ranaldo.
